Georgia, July 22, 2023 – Encryption Space Mining, one of the world’s largest Bitcoin mining companies, today announced the establishment of a new self-hosted industrial-scale Bitcoin mining data center in West Texas.
With 120 MW of capacity, the new data center features sustainable infrastructure, high efficiency and a low carbon footprint, powered by ERCOT, with more than 40% of its energy coming from wind, solar and hydropower. Additionally, the facility will create jobs for global BTC mining investors while providing work for local contractors.
Commenting on the new facility, Aroosh Needles, executive chairman and co-founder of Encryption Space Mining, said: “As we continue our rapid expansion plans around the world, we remain committed to our sustainability and social commitments by identifying ways to power our of industrial-scale Bitcoin mines that use renewable energy and create jobs in the communities where we operate.”

To support the company’s goal of launching 2.1 GW of new data centers by 2025, they recently signed one of the largest purchase agreements in industry history and have raised over $730 million in funding this year through their most recent round of funding.
As of December 2022, Encryption Space Mining’s data center capacity exceeds 90 megawatts, which translates to a total hash rate of over 1.9 Exahashes (EH/s), accounting for more than 2.5% of the global Bitcoin mining hash rate. A further 3.9 Exahashes (EH/s) will come online over the next 6 months, taking Encryption Space Mining to expect to reach over 1.6 GW of capacity by the end of 2023.
