    If you are interested in a career in hotel management, you can opt for a diploma in Hotel Management or a Degree in Hotel Management in Chandigarh. Hotel management jobs have multiple roles such as front office operations, food and beverage service, accounting etc. Many private institutes and government schools in India provide diploma, degree or certificate programs in hotel management.     There are many eligibility criteria for an aspiring candidate to apply for a hotel management courses. Like admission into a good college; completion of high school; good TOEFL score; strong communication and interpersonal skills etc. The duration of the course is not fixed and it depends on the program. Some of the common duration is six months to two years. Normally a candidate starts with a one-semester diploma and advances from there with every passing year.

    Most of the hotel management courses are associated with an increase in the average salary during the period of training. This increases with every passing year until you get your full-fledged diploma which is a three year course. If you are interested in getting an advance diploma, the salary will be more but this varies from institution to institution.

    Some of the institutes arrange customized entrance exams for their students. The candidates who clear these exams get a certificate. Other institutes do not arrange entrance exams and the candidate has to clear the regular exams. Some hotels and resorts also conduct open enrollment period for those who want to join after a long gap. The candidates who clear the exam and get a certificate to get an automatic invite to join the institute.

    There are some hotels and resorts that also offer specialised courses. These courses are normally related to the hospitality sector. Some of the institutes that offer the specialised courses include UEI Global Education, Institute of Hotel Management- IHMs, etc. These courses are useful for the hotel managers who need to upgrade their knowledge on the latest trends in this field. Such courses are quite expensive and many people can’t afford them.

    You can also find information about hotels and the institutes offering the hotel management entrance exam on the internet. There are many websites that offer information on the various colleges offering the same.

    The four main departments in any hotel are the concierge, rooms, restaurant/bar, and pool. Most of the time, the largest, and therefore most profitable, department in a hotel. It usually consists of four departments: housekeeping, front office, pool, and uniformed services. The hotel’s housekeeping department is responsible for cleaning and maintenance of the hotel; it usually includes maids, butchers, valet, luggage clerk, cleaning lady, carpet sweeper, restroom cleaner, etc.

    The other two major departments in hotel management are the hotel management office (HMO), and the front office. The HMO is responsible for day to day hotel operations, including reservations and room assignments, floral services, concierge services (to obtain rooms at a reduced rate), valet parking, luggage clerk, housekeeping, etc. The front office is responsible for the marketing of the hotel, its lobbies, reception, advertising, and guest relations. Guest relations include the front desk, concierge, reservation specialist, tour director, kitchen, concierge, valet, luggage clerk, etc. The hotel management also has a number of departments which are needed to run a successful hotel; these departments include property management, catering, housekeeping/maids, general property management, carpet, tiling, window cleaning, linen, kitchen, reception, landscaping, etc.

    In order for any hotel to be successful, they must have a well-organized management system; this allows the hotel management to handle all the major departments effectively and efficiently. Managing the different major departments effectively allows the hotel management to provide the best services to their guests. For example, in order to keep the front office efficient, they must have someone who can perform the bookkeeping for the hotels every week; someone else who can perform the accounting for the hotels and the benefits every month; someone else who can work out the details of contracts; and someone else who can keep track of guest complaints.

    When managing the hotel management also needs to have some knowledge of the hospitality industry because this will allow them to handle any emergencies or problems that may arise. If a guest comes complaining about not receiving a service, the first thing the hotel management should do is find out if that person is a member of a members’ panel. The next step will be to escalate the problem and get the person informed of the process of complaint resolution.

    Another department that is quite important in the hotel industry is the Paying staff. This includes the front desk clerk, housekeeping, valet, luggage clerk, concierge, tour operator, etc. Working hours in the hotel industry are very long; therefore, the employees have to be extremely friendly and pleasing to work with. They need to be hard working and well organized because in most cases they have to deal with customers every day. Another major department in the hotel industry is the Restaurant. Every restaurant has different managers and levels and as the name suggests, each level is responsible for their own working hours.

    When working in the hotel industry, you will see that the food production department is one of the largest and one of the most important departments to manage as it involves the quality of the food produced on an everyday basis. In this department, you will see all types of food production: from prep to the final product. The main responsibility of this department is to ensure that all of the food produced in the hotel meets the quality standards and is packaged according to the standards set by the organization where the food is manufactured. Other major departments include the back office and accounting.
