The new practical modular phone from the Lenovo owned company is a mighty upgrade over its smaller cousin. Design

On the first look at the phone, you would find the Z Force thicker than most high-end phones in the market today, it is still one of the best phones we put our hands on in the past few months. The smartphone is entirely metal based and follows the pattern of modular attachment which can stick on to the back of the device. Besides the usual home screen buttons, you will also find a very good fingerprint sensor attached to the front of the device and it is really fast also. The one major thing you will notice will be the absence of the earphone jack. Motorola has beaten Apple to create a device without the 3.5mm jack. Instead you will find a type C USB port along with a Bluetooth option to stream your music wirelessly.

Modules

Well currently, you will be able to find 3 different modules you can attach to your device whilst the rest are still under process. Dubbed as the Moto Instant Share, the projectors will probably the best of the modules you can use right now. You can easily project your screen to a 70-inch space on a wall. Also, another modular accessory allows you to join a full JBL Speaker at the back of your phone. The last module is a plain ordinary battery case. Attaching these modules is simple because they easily get stuck to the back of your phone with the help of 4 magnets placed at the corners of the device on the inside. Also, removing these accessories is also easy. All you have to do is to peel them off. No need for any tools or reboots.

Specs and Software

Like most top smartphones in the market, the Z Force is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor. Also the smartphone houses an embedded Adeno 530 GPU and a cool 4GB RAM to power it. The smartphone is available in 32GB and 64GB variants and there is still a presence of a SD Card slot to even increase the memory further more. You get to use Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow out of the box and being Motorola, you would expect Android N to be first available on the device as soon as it arrives.

Camera

The Moto Z Force is powered by a 21MP sharpshooter at the rear end while you would get only a 5-MP selfie camera on the front. But as you would have noticed, it isn’t the camera that makes your photos great, it is the post processing features that enable you to have a perfect snap. The Moto Z Force includes an optical Image Stabilization (OIS), phase Detection Autofocus (PDAF) and laser autofocus which would enable you to get perfect shots with the help of the F/1.8 aperture. Motorola has promised that there isn’t any shutter lag.

Battery Life

The Moto Z Force is backed by a 3500 mAh battery which allows us to use the phone for a very long 30 hours on a mixed regular usage of the device. Also the battery case mods available with the phone improve the battery life further more. Also, Motorola has also added its brilliant Moto Turbo Charging mode to the device and you can easily get 8 hours of battery life with only 15 minutes of turbo charge through the C-type USB port at the bottom of the phone.
