    How to Root To Samsung galaxy S20 Ultra

    There are several ways to root your Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G, some easier than others. This article will walk you through six of the easiest methods for rooting your phone. So whether you’re a beginner or an experienced user, there’s a method here for you!

    What do you mean by Rooting Android?

    Rooting Android is the process of gaining privileged control or root access to your operating system. By rooting an Android phone, you can gain additional features and access otherwise restricted by default.

    For example, many users root their phones to install custom software or modify system settings. Additionally, some unrooted phones limit which apps you can download or run on your device, but rooting can give you complete control over the apps that you use.

    Advantages or Benefits of Rooting the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G?

    Pre-Requirements

    • Before proceeding to steps, make sure to Unlock Bootloader on Samsung Galaxy S20.
    • Fully charge your device. If not, then you will be stuck in between the process.
    • Take the full backup of your android.
    •  You need to Install TWRP Recovery on Samsung Galaxy S20.
    • Download the Latest SDK Platform tools and ADB Fastboot Drivers.
    • Install the latest Samsung USB drivers.
    • This method requires a PC/Laptop to execute ADB commands.
    • Samsung Galaxy S20 original USB cable.

    Steps to root Samsung Galaxy S20, S20+ and S20 Ultra Using Magisk

    • First, you need to perform the OEM unlock and enable USB debugging on your Galaxy S20.
    • To enable “Developer Options” on your Samsung Galaxy Smartphone go to Settings>About phone>Software Information, and tap on the “Build number” 10 times until you get a message that you are a “developer.”. Now you will see an additional menu entry in the “Settings” menu called “Developer Options” as shown below.
    • Once you have enabled the “Developer Options” tap on it and you will see a similar screen as shown below (These are from One UI 2, if your UI version is something else slight difference maybe there).
    • Now tap on “OEM unlocking” and “USB debugging” to enable it. If  you get a popup warning, tap enable if you would like to proceed.
    • For that you may also please try the below tutorial which will help you to enable the same.
    • After downloading please install it. Kindly make sure to allow installations from “Unknown Sources” from the “Settings”->”Security”.
    • Now open the Magisk Manager app and click on “Install”, in the second option which is “Magisk Manager” which will install a recent version than the one currently installed on your S20 if any available.
    • Now download the same firmware version which is currently present on your phone to your computer. To know the “AP”, “CP”, “CSC” version of your phone try the code “*#1234#” into your phone’s dialing keypad.
    • Now you need to install the “7zip” windows application on your PC.
    • Once installed extract the file which starts with the name “AP” and you will find “boot.img.lz4” in it. Now archive this file in “.tar” format and transfer the file to your phone.
    • Now open the “Magisk Manager” and tap on the “Install button” there and tap on “select and patch a file”. you need to select the file you just transferred to your S20. Once that file is patched exit the “Magisk Manager” and copy the patched file from your phone back to your PC.
    • Once done please switch off your phone and enter it into the “Download Mode”. To enter into the download mode first you need to enter into the “Recovery Mode” for that press and hold the “Vol Up” + “Power” buttons at the same time and release the “Power” button when you see your phone model number on the screen. Now you will be entered into the “Recovery Mode”.
    • The above image shows the “Recovery Mode” menu. Here select the “Reboot to bootloader” option and confirm the action to enter into the “Download Mode”. Please use “Vol Up” and “Vol Down” buttons to toggle through the options and “Power” button to confirm a selection.
    • Once downloaded please open the “Odin.exe” file and tap on the “AP” button and select the patched file which was copied from your phone back to your computer. Now click the “Start” button in the odin to start the flashing process.
    • Once flashing is finished enter your phone into recovery mode again and perform a “wipe data/factory reset”. Once done your phone will be rooted with super user privileges when booted up.

    Patch Bootimage Using Magisk Manager

    • After downloading a firmware, you need to install the “7zip” windows application on your PC.
    • Once the “7Zip” is installed, extract the “AP” file and you will find “boot.img.lz4” in it. Now archive this file in “tar” format and transfer the file to your phone.
    • Now open the “Magisk Manager” and tap on the “Install button,” then tap on “select and patch a file” (Here select the file you just transfered). Once that file is patched, next, you have to exit the “Magisk Manager” and copy the patched file from your phone to your PC.

    Root Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra 5GWith KingRoot

    • Download KingRoot APK latest version and install it. If ‘Installation blocked‘ message appears of Chrome/ Android, then take it as a reminder that you have not yet unlocked ‘Installing apps from unknown sources‘ other than Google Play.
    • Once the installation is complete, click the ‘Open‘ button to start the KingRoot app.
    • Tap on the ‘Try it‘ button to enter into the main interface, and click the ‘Get Now‘ button to start the rooting process.
    • Once the rooting process is completed, you will get a message notification that Your device is Rooted Successfully.
    • Simply return to the main KingRoot interface screen.
    • That’s it, you have successfully Rooted your Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra 5Gwithout PC with KingRoot APK/ App.

    Root Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G With KingoRoot

    • If Google Chrome warning or Operating system warning appears on the screen about ‘KingoRoot.apk‘ or ‘Installation Blocked‘, then simply unblock. Just got to Settings > Security > Installation Blocked (Uncheck/ turn off the button stating Installation of apps obtained from unknown sources). and click ‘Ok‘ to proceed further to install KingoRoot.apk on your device.
    • Then follow the instructions on the screen to install KingoRoot on your device. After installation gets completed, simply tap/ click to launch the KingoRoot app, and once you get into the KingoRoot interface, click on ‘One Click Root‘ to start rooting your device, which would take few seconds to complete and display the result on the screen.
    • That’s all, you have rooted your Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G.

    • Before proceeding further to the next step, just Download ‘Magisk. zip‘ Latest version, which would accomplish the root access on your Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra 5Gdevice.
    • Then boot your device into the ‘Recovery Mode’, just press ‘Volume Down + Power Button’ simultaneously (same time) until the boot animation appears on the screen.
    • After that, just Tap on ‘Install‘, then Locate the ‘Magisk. zip‘ file and then select the file downloaded (magisk.zip) and then simply tap on ‘Swipe to Confirm Flash‘.
    • It would take a few moments to complete the installation process. Once the flash process gets completed, simply tap on ‘Reboot‘.
    • That’s it. You have successfully rooted your Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G device with Magisk.

    • Download ‘SuperSU. zip’ Latest version, which is required to gain the root access on your Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra 5Gdevice.
    • Now, just boot the device into the ‘Recovery Mode’, press ‘Volume Down + Power Button’ same time until the boot animation displays on the screen.
    • Then, just Tap on ‘Install‘, then navigate to the ‘SuperSU. zip‘ file and then select the file supersu.zip and then simply tap on ‘Swipe to Confirm Flash‘.
    • It would take a few moments to complete the installation process. Once the flash process gets completed, simply tap on ‘Reboot‘.
    • You have successfully rooted your Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G device with SuperSU.
