- Unplug your main modem. After some time plug it back again.
- Connect it to the yellow Internet port on your Orbi router using an Ethernet cable.
- After that, connect your Netgear Orbi router to a power outlet.
- Wait for your Orbi router’s ring LED to illuminate solid white and after that, pulse white.
- Now, to get the best WiFi coverage place the Orbi satellite in the middle of your house and plug it into a power source.
- Wait for a short piece of time for the Orbi satellite’s ring LED to light solid white, after that, pulse white, and then the pulse magenta.
Once the Orbi satellite’s ring LED pulses magenta, it will illuminate one of the below-mentioned colors for 15-20 seconds then turns off:
Solid Blue: A good connection.
Solid Magenta: The connection hasn’t be established.
Solid Amber. Fair connection
- Connect your computer or laptop to the Orbi router.
- Visit orbilogin com or download the Orbi app or to set up your Netgear Orbi WiFi network like a pro.
The Orbi router’s ring LED will turn off after the setup process is completed successfully.

Steps to change the Orbi system’s network name (SSID) and password using orbilogin com web address.
- First of all, a web browser should be loaded from a device (computer or laptop) that is connected to the Orbi WiFi network.
- Type orbilogin com in the address bar.
- The Orbi login window will appear.
- Enter the default or personalized username and password.
- The Basic home page will display.
- Click on the Wireless option.
To personalized the SSID (network name), enter a unique new name in the SSID field.
To change the password/passphrase/passcode/security key, type a new and strong password in the Password field.
- Finally, save your settings by clicking on the Apply button.
Note: If you personalized the login credentials, then you might need to reconnect your all devices to the Orbi’s WiFi network.

To update the latest firmware on your Netgear Orbi router, follow the steps below:
- Go back to orbilogin.com web address.
When the basic home page displays, return back to the ‘Firmware Update’ page and:
- Click on Advanced option after that, Administration and then Firmware Update.
- Once done, hit the ‘Manual Update’ tab and click on the ‘Browse’ button.
