Over 8.5 million people visit Australia every year, and if you’re thinking of joining them, then we’ve got some tips for you.

Before booking your trip down under, add these 5 must-see things to do in Sydney to your itinerary.

    1. The Sydney Opera House

The white sails of the Sydney Opera House towering over the harbor are one of the most iconic views in all of Australia.

If you’ve only got a few minutes to spare, you can walk on some of the grounds surrounding the opera house and snap a few selfies.

If you’ve got a few hours, then grab tickets for a show and a tour. Don’t worry about food, the Opera House is home to over 6 dining spots from fast-casual to fine dining.

Bring the kids! One in every 4 performances is designed for visitors 12 and under.

    2. SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium

The SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium is where over 12,000 animals call home. With more than 650 different species of marine life spread across 14 zones, there’s plenty to enjoy for visitors of all ages.

It’s also home to the world’s largest exhibit on the Great Barrier Reef. You’ll see marine animals native to the reef and Australia’s surrounding oceans as well as animals from all over the world.

    3. Sydney Harbour

There are various ways to explore the harbor depending on the amount of time you have and your personal interests. Here are a few of our recommendations.

    • Sydney Bridge Climb: see the harbor from above by taking a guided climb of the Sydney Bridge
    • Rent a Kayak along the shore and explore the harbor at a slower pace
    • Harbor Boat Tour: hop aboard one of the many chartered boats available and see the harbor from the comfort of an open-air deck

A harbor tour will guarantee unforgettable views of the world-class Opera House, the Sydney Harbour Bridge, the Maritime Museum, and more.

    4. Bondi Beach

Bondi Beach is famous for its vibrant community and focuses on water and beach sports. You can’t visit Bondi without seeing a few games of sand volleyball, a yoga class, and boats galore. It’s the perfect beach for play and offers a variety of nightlife attractions too.

And no trip to Bondi Beach is complete without a visit to the Bondi Icebergs Club pool.

This large lap pool is just one of the club’s many amenities including saunas, cafes, and more. And for a small admission fee of $9 you can have daytime access to the pool, lockers, and saunas.

The lap pool is one of the most photographed areas in all of Sydney. And once you see it, you’ll know why.

    5. The Rocks Neighborhood

The Rocks neighborhood is one of Sydney’s oldest neighborhoods and it has the nostalgic architecture to prove it. Once considered one of Sydney’s slums, the rocks is now a vibrant, community that blends the old and new. It’s home to shops, boutiques, cafes, and more.

Every visitor to Sydney needs to spend a few afternoon hours roaming the streets of the Rocks collecting souvenirs and taking photos. After you’re done exploring, stop by Sydney’s oldest pub, The Fortune of War, for a drink.
