There are two appropriate and simple ways to set up the EX3700 range extender. One procedure to set up your device is to use the browser setup and the other way is to use the WPS (WiFi-Protected Setup) method.
In this article, we will provide you both the ways.
First, we will learn how to set up the Netgear EX3700 WiFi Range Extender using web-browser setup.
- Plug the Netgear EX3700 into an electrical outlet and wait for 2-3 minutes for the LED lights on your device to become solid green. First, it will blink for some time and after that, it will become stiff.
- Use a WiFi device (computer or laptop) to connect to the Netgear_Ext (default) network. You can also make use of a wired computer or laptop to make a connection between your device and the range extender. You can do this simply by using an Ethernet cable.
- As soon as your device is connected to your range extender successfully, the device LED will light up.
- Now, open an internet browser on your connected device.
- Enter www.mywifiext.Net in its address bar.
Note: If you are facing issues in connecting to the above-mentioned URL then you can use the default IP address of your device to log in. And, make sure that you are not typing the URL in the search bar.
Once you are into the login page, hit the new extender setup button – complete all the required fields of extender setup screen and punch on the button next.
Note: This process is meant for your login details recovery (username and password).
- After that, the displayed screen will ask you how you wanna use your Netgear EX3700 range extender? You simply have to tap on WiFi range extender button and proceed towards the next step.
- Click on next but before that make sure that you have selected a WiFi network whose range you wish to extend from the available list of networks.
- Type your wireless password and punch on the next button.
- Enter your network name (SSID) and security settings (password) and click on next.
- Connect your wired and wireless device to the EX3700 range extender and click on Continue.
Congrats, you extender is now configured. Tap on Next and proceed with the registration.
- Click on Finish once the registration process has been completed successfully.
Note: You can skip the registration process if your device is already registered. But do not ignore this step.
The second method to configure your range extender is via WiFi-Protected Setup
- Plug in your range extender in the same room you have placed your WiFi router.
- Ensure that your router is up-to-date and throwing live and active WiFi signals. Your router should be WPS capable as well.
- Push the WPS button on your Netgear device once. Hold it till the LED lights on it start blinking.
- After a few seconds, apply the same process on your main router as well.
And that’s it. In this way, you can easily configure your range extender using the WPS method.
After that, you can move your Netgear EX3700 to your preferred location. Connect it with your wired and wireless devices.
- For wireless devices:- Default network name Netgear_ext is used.
- For wired devices:- Default web address mywifiext or mywifiext.net is used.
