Restaurants and bars will often choose one factor over the other. For example, high-end restaurants may decide to use a durable countertop that won’t deteriorate over time. However, the countertop needs to be maintained, which leads to higher costs.

Others restaurants may compromise function to keep costs down and save on maintenance. Unfortunately, this can lead to a less appealing area, resulting in patrons not wanting to come back.

Quartz, which is both form and function, bridges the gap. It’s great for high-traffic areas like restaurants and offers a variety of colors and patterns.

What to look for when choosing the right material:

Countertops, when selected carefully, can be an investment in your company that will last years.

    1. Budget:

Many business owners fail to realize the importance of maintaining commercial kitchen countertops. Some countertops require more care than others and may need special instructions. In some instances, it might be in your best interest to combine durable, inexpensive counters with a few accent items in critical areas around the establishment.

    2. Porous vs. Porous:

If not taken care of properly, countertops with a porous surface are more likely to absorb moisture, stain, and harbor bacteria. Many state and local building codes restrict the use of absorbent materials in food service areas.

    3. Maintenance:

People prefer materials that need low maintenance. Quartz can easily be repaired, resurfaced, sealed, and resurfaced without interrupting their day. Others may find the cost of home maintenance to be a bargain compared with the style and stability offered by higher maintenance counters.

    4. Durability:

Countertop durability refers to a surface’s ability to resist scratches and burns, stains or dents, moisture, corrosion, and high temperatures. A surface that can withstand high heat or cutting is recommended.

    5. Weight:

While all types and styles of food service counters or restaurant bar countertops require bracing support and cabinetry, some materials can be heavier and need more strength to stay stable. Therefore, budgeting for extra help might be a good idea.

    6. Appearance:

Last but not least, customer-facing counters are judged by their appearance. In addition, you should note that certain counter types such as soapstone and butcher block may change in appearance over time.

    Common countertop material:

What material should your commercial space be made of? You can choose from many different materials, all available in a variety of styles and prices. These are the most used materials for restaurant and commercial bar design.

    1. Granite countertop:

Granite is formed when rock is compressed for millions and years. Different minerals then merge. Granite is available in polished and textured forms.

    2. Slate countertop:

Slate is a bold choice in design, and it can easily be adapted to various styles or settings. While most slate comes in gray or black, you can also find some slate in purple and green. Many choose slate because of its rough texture.

    3. Marble countertop:

Marble begins as limestone. Any physical impurities present during the process create thin veins, bands of color and make marble so easy to identify. As a result, it could be a suitable material for your restaurant, bar, or cafe for many reasons.

    4. Quartz countertop:

Quartz may have flecked designs or have more uniform colors. You will love it. Quartz countertops are durable and not porous. This means it doesn’t require sealing and can be easily cleaned. However, its glossy finish makes it a significant investment.

    5. Laminate countertop:

Laminate countertops work well in small businesses with low traffic. So, laminate countertops can replicate high-end products but are usually much more affordable. Laminate counters require little maintenance. Because they are lightweight, you won’t need any heavy-duty support.

    6. Soapstone countertop:

Soapstone is another kind of quarried stone countertop. It has matte, smooth colors that range in color from light grays to near-black. Some soapstone slabs might show hints of blue, green, or have a slightly textured finish. Soapstone gets darker over time. Some people prefer a more uniform material, while others like the natural beauty of soapstone that is natural aging. Soapstone’s subtle appearance makes it easy to integrate with many different designs.

    7. Stainless steel countertop:

Stainless steel counters are an excellent choice for food service because they are durable and resistant to bacteria. Its polished shine makes it look professional in any setting. Second, you need a surface that is easy and quick to clean. Third, you want a heat-resistant, non-sealing surface. Finally, you will need a recyclable counter-material.

    8. Concrete countertop:

Concrete countertops are made up of mortar and pigment. So, concrete can also mold into various shapes and be added visually appealing to create unique pieces. This material was initially used for industrial designs but is becoming increasingly popular due to its adaptability to other styles, such as minimalist and rustic settings.

    9. Butcher block countertop:

Butcher block is more than just for kitchen islands or cutting boards. They also make lovely and warm countertops. There are two types of butcher blocks. The edge grain or end grain. Although colors and grains can vary among wood types, they both have the same basic style. End grains are parallel to one another while edges grains create a checkerboard design, often made of multiple wood shades.

    Conclusion:

Any commercial space can be enhanced by countertops. Quartz kitchen countertops can set a tone in your restaurant or bar and provide durable work surfaces. For different areas of your business, you will probably need different types of counters. So, restaurants and bars often use commercial countertops for service counters, food preparation areas, bar tops, and restroom vanities.
