- Logging in to the SSH on the controller: The very first step that we need to follow is to connect the SSH with the UniFi Controller. It is advised to work this through on a device that runs on Linux OS as it is easy to access the CloudKey on Linux OS. You can also connect it through the Windows OS, but then you would have to get the PuTTY configuration setup in your device preinstalled.
- Installation of CERTBOT: Before going through this step, make sure that the ping is successful on your controller’s IP Address. If not, then restart the device. Check the ping via unifi.yourdomain.com, and if it redirects the controller perfectly then you are good to go.
- Load up the Certificates for the UniFi Controller: Being a Java-based service, Ubiquiti Networks offer PKCS #12 certificates. So, load them up to your device with the private keys and restart the service to complete the encryption.
