Admission to an MBA college in India is done based on entrance exams. An MBA entrance exam is conducted at the national level, the state/regional level and the university/college level, and there are over 50 types of entrance exams. If these entrances exams are cleared, one can seek admission to the top MBA institutions in the country.
On the national level, the exams that are conducted are CAT, MAT, and CMAT.
On the state or regional level, the exams are MAH-CET. TSICET, TANCET, KMAT.
On the university or college level, the MBA entrance exams are XAT, SNAP, IRMASAT and IIDT Exam.
The dates of the MBA exams that will be conducted in the year 2020 are as follows:

Overview of important MBA exams
CAT
Common Admission Test or CAT is the most popular examination of the country which is conducted by the IIM or the Indian Institutes of Management. It was started in the year 1950. Once cleared, the examination scores are used to seek admission in one of the 20 IIMs and several other management organizations across the country. Over 2 lakh students appear for the exam every year. The exam is conducted online the duration of the exam is 180 minutes.
CMAT
CMAT is the second-largest entrance exam of management in India and over 1.5 candidates appear for this exam. The exam is conducted by the National Testing Agency and was started in 2012. The exam is considered legitimate in across 500 MBA institutes. The exams are held every year in January. This exam is also conducted online.
XAT
The Xavier Aptitude Test is another computer-based management examination that is considered a reputed and one of the best. It is connected by Xavier Labor Relations Institute (XLRI) Jamshedpur and about a lakh students appear for this exam. It is traditionally held on the first Sunday of the year and its scores are considered by over 100 management institutes.
SNAP
This is the Symbiosis National Aptitude Test which is conducted by Symbiosis International University. It is another management exam conducted on the national level. The scores of this exam help get admission to 15 institutes that fall under the Symbiosis International University. The registrations for this exam are done until November and the exam is conducted in December.
MAT
The Management Aptitude Test is one of the most popular exams and its scores are accepted by 600 institutes for admissions of candidates to management courses. These are conducted four times a year in February, May, September, and December.
The syllabus of all these MBA exams roughly comprises language comprehension, general awareness, quantitative aptitude, and logical reasoning.
