Are you sick of your everyday routine? Bored with your university classes? Do you need a change of scenery? Looking to meet new people and experience new things? Studying abroad might be exactly what you need.

However, when it comes to choosing a country, there are many factors you need to consider. For starters, you first have to make sure studying abroad is right for you. Are you an adventurous person who likes travelling to new places and doesn’t mind being away from their loved ones for a long period of time? If the answer is yes, great. Then, you need to decide whether location and language play a role in your choice seeing as how that can limit your options. Another thing that is essential is whether your destination of choice offers the discipline you’re interested in. However, you cannot neglect your non-academic interests either. And last but certainly not least, you need to be aware of your finances. As much as you want to travel to a specific place, if you don’t have the funds, it’s not worth the risk.

Now that you have these crucial aspects in mind, here are some of the top countries for studying abroad. Take a look.

    The Netherlands

If you’re thinking about going to Europe, one of the best countries to consider is definitely the Netherlands. Choosing a program should not be difficult seeing as how over 2,000 of them are taught in English. Plus, the Dutch have a student-centred style of teaching that is quite interactive and will provide you with many skills for later on in life. It’s not surprising that many people decide to stay there after they graduate, thanks to the diverse community of the country and amazing government initiatives. Furthermore, if you’re interested in art, the Netherlands will not let you down as it is home to Van Gogh and Rembrandt. However, you should keep daily expenses in mind and plan accordingly.

    Spain

Staying in Europe, Spain is another amazing option you should put on your list of candidates. Compared to the Netherlands, Spain has lower living costs. In addition to that, there are over 70 universities that you could attend and experience their education system. Also, you will be enchanted by the beauty of this country. Other than your studies, you have a wide choice of activities, from attending sports games and visiting museums and works of art to sampling their unique food and enjoying the beaches.

    France

Last but not least when it comes to the Old Continent is France. There are over 3,500 institutions of higher education in this country, so it’s no wonder more and more people are choosing to study there. Other than a wide variety of choices in regards to your studies, this historic land definitely has no shortage of activities outside of school as well. Visiting the glamorous Cannes and the rest of the French Riviera is sure to take your breath away, and if you’re looking for adventure, you can visit the Alps.

    Australia

Moving on to the other side of the world, another great country where you can go to study is Australia. An important thing here, as well as when it comes to other locations, is to look into whether you need a visa and which type. It might be best to consult local immigration solicitors to ensure you have all the proper documents and are familiar with the ever-changing laws. Apart from great universities, the Land Down Under offers a unique landscape, with everything from mountains and rainforests to deserts and gorgeous beaches. You can explore the Great Barrier Reef or go on an adventure in the Outback – your choices truly abound. However, before you take this leap, see whether you can afford moving here for a longer period of time seeing as how it is one of the pricier countries.

    New Zealand

Even though there are only eight universities in New Zealand, each and every one of them is ranked within the top 500 in the world. Quality programs and teaching, as well as the reputation that precedes it, is what attracts so many students to this amazing country. Whether you want to study sciences, arts or engineering, you will be able to find your match here. Plus, the gorgeous nature will be extremely calming and if you want some adrenalin, you can go skiing or skydiving among other things.

    Thailand

An Asian destination you cannot overlook is Thailand. This stunning country has some of the best universities in the world and the costs of living are quite low. You probably heard of Thailand as a tourist place, which means that you will be able to relax on a beach while taking a break from studying. Moreover, their delicious food and legendary nightlife will fulfil all your needs. Also, Thai people are extremely welcoming and friendly, so you will have no trouble making lifelong connections.

    Canada

One of the best countries in the world in regards to education is Canada. Before you make this decision though, you need to understand what is needed for you to be able to study in the Great White North. Other than entering Canada with a visa, you also need a study permit which allows foreigners to study at Canadian learning institutions. If you get a work permit after graduating, you might in time even qualify for permanent residence. In addition to various national parks and beautiful nature, the Land of Maple Syrup is known for its inclusivity and diversity as well as a high standard of living. If you qualify for any of the Canadian universities, make the most of this great opportunity.

Whichever location you choose from these, you will not make a mistake. Do your research in terms of visas, scholarships and study programs properly, and prepare well in advance when it comes to being away from your family and friends. Other than that, you will have no problems, so go travel, learn and live your life to the fullest!
