With the growing demand for advanced technology and, we have seen the surge of tools which have simplified complex tasks. When we talk about such tasks, one of the key factors that you need to take into account is the machinery involved. CNC metal cutting is considered to be the most advanced type which ensures precise cutting. You will easily spot one such machine in almost every workshop. Owing to the precision it has to offer, CNC cutting machine becomes one of the most sought after machines in manufacturing companies.

    What Does CNC Mean?

CNC means Computerized Numerical Control . This kind of machine comes with different axis movement like rotary, liner or both, which offers multiple movements, making cutting precise and effective. If you have CNC laser machine, then it comes with two axis X and Y while the 5 Axis CNC cutting machine comes with five axis, namely X, Y and Z and two rotatory axis A and B, which makes possible multidirectional movement of the machine, therefore allowing better cutting.

We know a lot about CNC cutting and the precision it has to offer but cutting is only one of the key features offered by CNC machines. Besides that, it performs other tasks like drilling, milling, contouring, grooving, lathing, shearing, cutting, punching, welding, tapping, stamping, turning and much more. Also check: custom metal fabrication

So, we can say that a single CNC machine can be maneuvered to be used for different kinds of work.

    Benefits of A CNC Machine:

    • One of the benefits of using this machine is that it is fully automatic. Once the numerical are fed in the system, the machine operates accordingly. There is no need to watch over the working of the machine, making it more all the more effective.
    • Since this machine works automatically on the fed data, it makes this machine more productive and enhances the finishing of the product.
    • The precision provided by this machine helps in creating products that are as exactly what the clients want.
    • Since this machine works faster and ensures better cutting, it can be considered as a cost-saving and time-saving solution.
    • Since this is a fully automatic machine, it becomes easier to operate and requires minimal or no manual interference, thus making it an error-free solution provider.
    • It can be used round the clock without worrying about the efficiency or effectiveness of the machine.
    • CNC cutting ensures on-spot cutting, which means lesser waste and more productivity.
    • With the help of this machine, you can ensure more productivity as the job, which would otherwise require four hours, can be wound up in an hour’s time.

Industries Where CNC Cutting Machine Finds the Application:

    1. Metal fabrication – This industry also makes use of CNC cutting machine. In the fabrication industry, the operations are performed on steel sheets. CNC machines are used for plasma cutting, forming, welding, punching etc. CNC plasma cutters are used to bring steel plates in shape.

    2. Electrical Discharge Machining (EDM) Industry – These machines perform the work of removing metal by creating a spark. These sparks are responsible for burning the metal. EDM, along with CNC, ensures better work and cutting precision.

    3. Unconventional usage – CNC cutting machines are used for some unconventional cutting work. For example, it is used in wood work like drilling, routing etc. It is also used for engraving names letters and numbers. Some CNC machines like CNC terminal location and soldering machines are used in the electrical industry.

    Conclusion

As technology continues to grow, so does its impact. And in times like today when we have CNC machines, which can be updated with new software in a jiffy, better productivity can be guaranteed to everyone.
