    In the pre-Vedic period (2700 B.C.), the historical evidence of Yoga was seen as perceived by sage Patanjali, who shared ‘the system of Yoga’ with the rest of the world, through the Sutras, and the wise teachings of the Vedas. The principles of Yoga were developed in ancient times as a holistic practice. Since then, people are accustomed to the mental and physical benefits of Yoga.

    Yoga is a spiritual discipline based on subtle science. It is a Sanskrit word which means ‘unite’ or ‘yoke’. This is the art of experiencing individual.. and universal consciousness, by harmonizing your mind, body, and spirit. The process begins with the body, the breath, the mind, and then the inner-self.

    Nirvana can only be achieved if you rise above the limited personality.

    To achieve the infinite, one must become infinite.

    Why? To feel abundant, to feel enough, and to feel content- all the time!

    • Stanford University health psychologist Kelly McGonigal Ph.D. said that ‘the evidence shows that Yoga really helps people change at every level, which is why clinics have embraced Yoga as a complement to psychotherapy’.
    • ‘Yoga remains a natural and readily available approach to maintaining wellness and treating mental health issues’, said Sat Bir Khalsa Ph.D., a neuroscientist at Harvard Medical School. The Indian Journal of Physiology and Pharmacology states that Yoga targets unmanaged stress, the main component of chronic disorders such as anxiety, depression, obesity, diabetes, and insomnia.
    • Psychologists are also examining the use of Yoga with the survivors of trauma found out that it may be even more effective than many psychotherapy techniques. In a study, at the Trauma Center of Justice Resource Institute in Brookline, few women who had PTSD took part in the 8 sessions which consisted of 75-minute Hatha Yoga and experienced a massive drop in the PTSD symptoms as compared to the dialectical behavior therapy group.
    • Reports delivered a reduction in insomnia, anxiety, fear, depression, better interpersonal relations, and a better sense of control.

    For the souls who have reached the stage of emotional exhaustion, and physical burnout, we have been blessed with a powerful tool to curb this overflowing menace. Yoga has come to rescue the trapped brains with a good amount of logical and scientific reasons, for the skeptical ones.

    To conclude, you must remember that ‘Change starts from you’! Help yourself first in order to help others.

    An action is worth 10,000 words and if your words do not match your thoughts, then keep working upon yourself until you become one with yourself. During childhood, not many people paid attention to the cliché phrase – ‘The actions speak louder than words’, now is the time to implement it, in order to really experience who you really are from within.
